Warren Stephens, owner of Stephens Media, pushes Republican Tim Griffin | CF

Clipped Fresh — By Christopher Spencer on January 18, 2010 at 1:18 pm

Warren Stephens’ Support For Griffin Called ‘Big Plus’ – ArkansasBusiness.com

.

FROM THE POST: Griffin announced Friday that Stephens, chairman and CEO of Stephens Inc. of Little Rock, would serve as his campaign’s finance chairman. Vic Snyder, a Democrat who has served as representative from 2nd District since 1997, also announced Friday that he wouldn’t be seeking re-election this year.

COMMENT: You might remember Stephens dire warnings about an Obama presidential victory, distributed through his newspapers, including Northwest Arkansas’ The Morning News. Stephens is no stranger to the political game and doesn’t mind using his media arms to push his agenda, even if it’s simply to tell people how successful he’s been financially in this downturn economy. He had his newspaper Web sites post an interview of him being interviewed by Steve Forbes about his financial success just weeks before The Morning News was merged with a long-time rival, Wehco Media
