Deadline to apply for Fayetteville A & P money is April 1

News — By Christopher Spencer on March 29, 2010 at 11:17 am

Got an great idea for a festival? Know of a way to promote Fayetteville and bring more tourism dollars to town?

Well, now is your chance to get your idea funded by the Fayetteville Advertising and Promotion Commission.

Twice a year, the commission gives out money to events that promote the city. You may remember that in November, the A&P gave out $182,850 to various events.

Here are the terms as described on the A&P Web site:

Funding for annual events and for amounts larger than $2,000.00 will be received in April and in October. Requests are reviewed by the Commission only twice each year for budgeting purposes. Requests for funding will be reviewed by the A&P Executive Director and a recommendation will be made. The request will then be presented to the Funding Subcommittee who will make a recommendation to the A & P Commission. Paid invoices should be submitted to the Executive Director. A check will be issued directly to the requestor. A & P funds shall be used as seed money and should not be considered for long term funding of special events, tourist-oriented facilities or festivals.

The deadline is April 1 – so read these guidelines.
