SYNOPSIS: And the jobs created through the Internet are, on average, better paying, according to the study. Americans are making 10 percent of their purchases online and Internet business contributes 2.1 percent or $300 billion to the country’s GDP. That number is expected to grow and hasn’t gone down during the recession.
Patrick Thibodeau, the article’s author, explores how Internet jobs, more startup and less based around large corporations, illustrate the flaw in employer-share health care costs.
From the article - Deighton said the finding could help make the case for a move away from employer-based health care, which he called something out of the Middle Ages, to a system that makes it easier for people to start new businesses without having to provide health coverage.
