FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PROSPECT STREET DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
FAYETTEVILLE, AR – The City of Fayetteville Transportation Department will begin the construction of drainage improvements on Prospect Street on Monday, March 1, 2010. The construction work will take place on Prospect Street north of Wilson Park between Vandeventer Avenue and Woolsey Avenue.
Closure of Prospect Street will be required Monday March 1st through Friday March 5th to facilitate the work due to the size of the storm water line being installed. Detour signs will be posted to reroute traffic as necessary.
Construction for the storm water line will also affect a portion of the Wilson Park trail. Construction will consist of demolition and replacement of approximately 50 feet of trail. Wilson Park will not be closed during construction. However, portions of the trail will be rerouted during the construction period. Safety of park patrons is always of utmost importance. Safety fencing and signage will be posted around the work area sites, as well as around stockpiled materials and equipment. Disturbed areas will be restored and re-seeded immediately upon completion of the construction.
All construction is expected to be completed in March 2010. Thank you for your patience while the City works on this important project.
