June Unemployment Numbers Climb
Clipped Fresh — By Greg on July 2, 2009 at 9:16 amTheHill.com – Unemployment up slightly to 9.5 percent.
COMMENT: Though the unemployment rate remains relatively stable at 9.5 percent, the nation’s economy continued to shed jobs in June. The Labor Department reports that Americans lost another 467,000 jobs last month, far more than May and much higher than the 350,000 to 400,000 expected. Labor reports that the job losses occurred across the major industry sectors, namely manufacturing, professional and business services, and construction.
