‘I Hate Cancer’ benefit concert scheduled tonight and Saturday

Banner, Event, News — By Christopher Spencer on January 8, 2010 at 2:25 pm

Christine Burnside (Dickerson), owner of Carousel Childcare, was diagnosed this October with breast cancer. Within a month, she started chemotherapy to battle the illness.

It costs her family $26,000 each time she goes for therapy. Burnside gets treatments every three weeks and the cycle is expected to last six months. These costs must come from the family’s own pockets right now because the insurance company has not committed to paying for the life-saving treatment.

Her daughter, Rachelle Cagle, organized a two-night benefit concert for her mother and invited the community to attend.

It starts tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Drifter’s in Fayetteville, 3615 W. MLK Jr. Blvd. and picks up again at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Admission will be $10 the day of the show. ($15 for both nights if purchased in advance) 21+ only Call 479-957-7326 or contact Love For Christine Facebook Group to purchase advance tickets. Non-Smoking Show! A silent auction will be held Saturday featuring local artists. Also, there will be free oil changes from the Grease Pig, two given away each night during our raffle. Plus T-Shirts and CD’s.
