Ozarks Unbound
Here we are. Week Five begins today and I think the content bar keeps rising.
Things are shaping up well. We’re continuing to experiment. We want to see what works and cast aside that which doesn’t. I’ve noticed in looking at the site’s statistics that you guys like original, local content best. I don’t blame you. I want more of it as well.
Between the fantastic contributing writers, daily Songbook entries, Ink By the Byte columns and Clipped Fresh news items, I think there’s a vibe starting to emerge, an Ozarks Unbound feel. At least I hope so. Our goal continues to be about bringing thoughtful and unique stories in front of your eyes and that’s exactly where we are going.
Heather Kendrick-Gerlaugh, she of Cattywampus fame, is leading the Songbook this week. She starts off today with Lucero’s “Nights Like These.” A hint about tomorrow’s Songbook choice: It’s a band named after a mythological male spirit known for slipping into people’s beds at night.
Also, please welcome Liz Rogers as a new writer. She had a great column/news story earlier this week about saving money in the summer by saving energy. It’s awesome when environmentalism and economics can intersect to help the wallet. Check it out.
OU’s resident gaming expert Daeran Wang did a piece on Castle House Games moving to a new location this week. It’s the hot summertime and an indoor board game can be a pretty nice way to beat the heat if you enjoy that sort of thing. I do.
Finally, the interview with Ozarks At Large was broadcast on Sunday, but I was sound asleep and didn’t catch it. Very lame of me, I know. I’m waiting for the interview to go up on their Web site. I will link to it here once it is up and we can all laugh together at my expense. *smiles*
Again, thanks for reading Ozarks Unbound. I’ve already gotten great feedback from a few of you about how we can deliver info better to you. I’ve tried to implement some of those suggestions and they work. I look forward to hearing more ideas.
