The Arkansas Times’ blog reports that Dr. William Harrison, who only recently retired from women’s medicine, died this morning of cancer.
His clinic on College Avenue provided abortions and was the subject of considerably controversy and regular demonstrations against the practice.
In late July, we captured some photos of residents turning out to honor and thank Dr. Harrison for his long years of service.

Here’s some debate for you. It’s so sad that this heroic man died less than two months after retiring. I think I might just have to go visit those pro-lifer folks on township sometime next week just to stir them up and let them know how horrible I think they are as human beings for trying to dictate what I can and cannot do with my body. Then I might ask them why they never seem too concerned with babies once they get past the vagina.
I hope the doctor’s family realizes what a hero he was and how he will be missed.
Agreed, he will be missed for giving many women a legal and safe choice as well as delivering many many babies in Fayetteville.

Have you seen the NUTS on Township?
Why are these always men?
Probably have to keep the “little woman” at home. Barefoot.
