Fayetteville police arrest Charles T. Nation on attempted murder charge | Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 18, 2009

RE: ARREST OF ONE MAN FOR SHOOTING INCIDENT

Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today the arrest of a local man for the shooting of a female late Tuesday night.

November 17th, 2009 at approximately 11:35 PM, the Fayetteville Police Department received a report of a shooting at 5700 W. Fountain in Fayetteville. Upon the officers’ arrival they located a 29 year old female with a gunshot wound to her back. The victim’s husband and five year old child were also in the residence but they were unharmed. Paramedics provided medical attention and she was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center.

Officers were able to determine the identity of the suspect through witness statements. Officers responded to the known address of the suspect but before their arrival they located the suspect’s vehicle traveling south on Crossover Road. A traffic stop was initiated and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

On Wednesday, November 18, 2009 a search warrant was served on the suspect’s residence located at 4049 Johnelle #10 and a handgun was recovered.

Arrested was Charles T. NATION, white male, age 21 of Fayetteville for Attempted Murder 2nd degree, Aggravated Assault, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.

The victim, Julie Bolton is in stable condition and her wound isn’t considered to be life threatening.

The investigation is ongoing and we will provide updates as information becomes available.

    Well I faced him tues and got 12 years. Thank the lord he kept me alive and and a better person
