Fayetteville man arrested after picking up package with 11 lbs. of weed

Fayetteville Police Chief and Chairman of the Fourth Judicial Drug Task Force Greg Tabor announced today the arrest of a local man for marijuana possession.
On June 25, detectives of the Fourth Judicial Drug Task Force received information about marijuana distribution using Federal Express. Detectives made a controlled delivery of 11 pounds of marijuana to an address on Sequoyah Court on Thursday, June 25, 2009. Detectives observed a man, later identified as Nathan Byrd, white male, age 23 of Fayetteville, retrieve the packaged marijuana and leave in his vehicle. Byrd was followed and stopped near the intersection of Huntsville and Crossover where he was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Marijuana).
The Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force is comprised of Fayetteville, Springdale, Prairie Grove, Lincoln, Farmington, West Fork, Greenland, Johnson, Elm Springs, Elkins Police Departments, the City of Goshen, and the Washington and Madison County Sheriff’s Offices.
