Fayetteville Alderman Petty plans to lobby against female biker fest | CF

Alderman Questions Benefit Of Female Biker Rally.

COMMENT: The Northwest Arkansas Times’ Skip Descant has a story in today’s paper about Alderman Matthew Petty’s effort to convince council members to reject the permit for a proposed female biker event in July called Bikes, Babes and Bling.

Petty told the paper he plans to raise the issue at Tuesday’s agenda session so it can potentially be voted on during the Jan. 19 council meeting.

The Fayetteville Advertising and Promotion Commission awarded the festival $20,000 in November to help it get off the ground.

The A&P Commission awarded the money in November, but I presume it hasn’t been paid out yet?

I’m not entirely sure. I’m attending their next meeting Monday. I will ask then, Mike.

The grants are paid after organizers submit receipts for expenses. (So money has likely not been released…) It’s not a blank check.
