(This Songbook entry was submitted by Craig Nelson, a Fayetteville photographer and enjoyer of fine music.)

The Specials were a major force in the UK’s 2-Tone Ska scene and enjoyed a brief but successful career, churning out numerous hits between ‘77 and ‘81 when they disbanded. Ghost Town is one of my favorite cuts, an ode to working class frustrations as tempers flared, venues closed, and once prosperous neighborhoods succumbed to economic depression.

Love this song. Other good “of the era” tune is “A Message To You Rudy.”
