AETN’s Arkansas Week ignores NWA newspaper merger | CF

Clipped Fresh — By Christopher Spencer on November 7, 2009 at 1:11 AM

AETN – Arkansas Educational Television Network / November 6, 2009.

COMMENT: I made sure to wait an extra week before mentioning the fact that AETN’s weekly news program about current events in Arkansas failed to mention Arkansas’ biggest media merger in at least a decade. When the merger was first mentioned, I took Arkansas Week to task on ignoring the elephant in the room only to later discover that they filmed essentially as the announcement was being made. Ate a little crow on that one. No such excuse this time. One would imagine this is a newsworthy event. Doug Thompson, who works for the newly formed Northwest Arkansas Newspapers LLC, was properly labeled as such, but not a breath was spoken about the transition.

I found it odd.
