Clipped Fresh — By Dug Begley on August 26, 2009 at 6:06 amAbercrombie & Fitch: Worlds Worst Recession Brand? – TIME.
COMMENT: The clothing brand, known for putting its name on most everything it sells, won’t sell out its chic image for a little profit in a recession. The decision to stay high and mighty might leave the company a carcass when it’s all said and done.
FROM THE ARTICLE: As the economy spiraled downward and competitors like AƩropostale started discounting like crazy, Abercrombie refused to lower prices. The company insisted that price-cutting would cheapen the cachet of the brand.
