27 votes counted mistakenly in Farmington
Election 2010 — By Christopher Spencer on May 18, 2010 at 6:14 pmThis morning 27 voters in Farmington voted mistakenly in that city’s sales tax election, said Washington County Election Commission Chairman John Logan Burrow.
An incorrect ballot was given to voters at the Farmington First Baptist Church.
Burrow said he was notified about the error about 9:30 a.m.
The votes will be counted as legitimate because it would be impossible to seperate those votes once cast.
Burrow said he expects 1,800 to 2,000 votes at that polling place today.
“Obviously, we hope the race isn’t decided within 27 votes,” he said.
