I run. A lot. Not as much as I used to, maybe–it’s tough to fit sixty, seventy miles into my week these days–but I’m training for my first marathon in eight years, so my weekly mileage is increasing, and as such so is my need for good, heart-pounding music, the kind of stuff that puts you on your feet and pushes you out the door. I almost always begin my runs with AC/DC’s Thunderstruck off AC/DC Live. (Actually, I almost always simply start Live from the beginning and run to the album.) The crowd noise at the start, that opening guitar riff: I can’t not take off running.
